The Pakistan Army, also known as the Pak Army, is the primary land force of the Pakistan Armed Forces, with approximately 560,000 active duty personnel. Established in August 1947 after the Partition of India, the army is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), a position held concurrently by the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). The Pakistan Army's primary objective is to defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as outlined in the Constitution of Pakistan.
